| Rio Grande Yarns: Hand-Dyed Apparel Yarns for Weavers & Knitters Our apparel yarn consists of 6 different types of yarn, each hand-dyed in 24 solid colors as well as 10 magnificent "tweed-dyed" colors. This secret dyeing process creates a multi-colored yarn which changes every 1 to 2 inches. When knitted or woven the textile is more tweed-like than ordinary space-dyed yarn which makes streaky patterns. And best of all, these yarns can all be used for warp as well as weft, and are spectacular as knitting yarns. (Maximum dyelot: 4 lbs. None of these yarns are moth-proofed.) |

A Worsted singles 4 oz. skein - approx. 190 yards.
85% wool 15% mohair We suggest a sett of 8 epi for either balanced weave or with our 2 ply worsted warp for weft-face weave. For knitting suggested needle size 10-1/2.

B Jumbo Loop 4 oz. skein - approx. 60 yards.
78% mohair 4% wool 3% nylon. Excellent for a touch of texture, or for the extravagant spirit - a jacket or coat. Use only 1 or 2 threads at a time as a warp at 8 epi. For knitting you can use 13 to 17 size needles. One skein makes a small scarf on size 17 needles.

C Thick 'n Thin 4 oz. skein - approx. 122 yards.
This 2-ply 100% virgin wool is dense and lustrous, excellent for both weaving and knitting. It adds a slightly uneven texture to both. We suggest 8 epi for a balanced weave or size 9 needles for knitting.

D Mohair Loop 3.5 oz. skein - approx. 215 yards.
78% mohair, 13% wool, 9% nylon, this most popular "baby loop" is strong and reflects the dyed colors and tweeds in a most attractive way. We suggest 8 epi as a sett for weaving and size 10 1/2 needle for knitting. One skein makes a fabulous light weight scarf knitted on size 13 needles.

E Brushed Mohair 3.5 oz. skein - approx. 215 yards.
This yarn is 78% mohair, 13% wool, 9% nylon and truly glistens with color. When using this as warp avoid too many threads next to each other; but it is very easily managed as an occasional grouping or single thread at 8 or 10 epi. It is excellent as weft in throws - a little goes a long way. For knitting, we suggest size 10 needles.

A 3 ply Superwash Merino wool. Excellent for fine scarves sett at 12 or more per inch. For knitting use size 1, 2, or 3 needles.
